When Should I Book My Newborn Photography Session?
We recommend booking your newborn photography session during your pregnancy, ideally around the beginning of your second trimester (12–20 weeks).
When you book with Always Belle Photography, you also receive a complimentary maternity session, which is typically held between 34 and 38 weeks of pregnancy.
Booking early ensures you don’t miss out on either of these incredible milestones!
How Our Booking Process Works
When you book with us, we pencil in your due date.
We don’t lock in the exact session day yet — we wait until:
- Your baby has arrived naturally, or
- You receive a confirmed c-section or induction date
This flexible approach means your newborn session is scheduled at the perfect time, based on your baby’s arrival.
Because all of our photographers are paediatric nurses who also work hospital shifts, we can only accept a limited number of due dates per month. Booking early guarantees your spot.
When Are Newborn Photos Best Taken?
The ideal time for newborn photography is between 5 and 30 days old.
At this age, babies are:
- Sleepy and easier to pose
- Naturally curled up
- Settling into their feeding rhythms
Our sessions are completely baby-led — your baby’s comfort, safety, and happiness come first.
What If My Baby Arrives Early or Late?
No stress at all!
Because we base our bookings on due dates rather than fixed days, we have the flexibility to schedule your session once your baby is here — whether they arrive early, late, or right on time.
This ensures we can photograph your baby at the perfect stage, without any rush.
Can I Still Book After My Baby Is Born?
If your baby has already arrived, please get in touch straight away.
If we have availability, we’ll do our best to fit you in — even beyond the 5–30 day window, we can still create beautiful newborn images.
