How long does a newborn photography session take?
At Always Belle Photography, a typical newborn session takes around 1.5 to 2 hours of photography time, followed by a same-day ordering appointment right after.
We only book two sessions per day — one in the morning and one in the afternoon — so you’ll never feel rushed, and there’s always time to pause when your baby needs it.
Why We Allow Extra Time for Your Baby’s Photoshoot
Every baby is different, and the early days can be unpredictable. That’s why we keep our schedule light and flexible.
Your session includes time for:

What Happens After the Photoshoot?
After your photography session, we invite you to stay for your ordering appointment, where you’ll view the images and choose your favourites.
This is a wonderful moment to:
- See your baby’s portraits on the big screen
- Select wall art or albums you’ll treasure forever
- Ask any questions you may have about your order
The entire experience, including photography and ordering, usually takes around 2.5 to 3 hours in total.
What If My Baby Doesn’t Sleep or Gets Fussy?
Don’t worry — we expect it!
All our photographers at Always Belle Photography are paediatric nurses, so we’re experts at settling babies safely and gently. If your baby needs extra time for feeds, cuddles, or resettling, we take it — without pressure or a ticking clock.
